Social Worker Month

Top 20 resources to celebrate National Social Workers Awareness Month...

PESI Team

Throughout the entire year, social workers strive to strengthen both individuals and their communities, advocating daily for human rights and social justice. Without social workers, and their collaboration with other mental health professionals, many individuals and families wouldn’t be able to manage challenges in their lives such as childhood trauma, family problems, depression, and substance abuse.

The National Association of Social Workers has named the theme for Social Work Month 2022 as The Time is Right for Social Work. Nationally, over 600,000 social workers have risen over the last year to meet the challenges posed by public health crises and civil unrest. Now more than ever, the need for the social work profession and the work done by compassionate, competent professionals like yourselves is clear.

There are many ways to celebrate social workers this month; here are a few:

  1. Showcase your hard work on social media with the following hashtags #SocialWorkMonth and #SocialWorkIsEssential (don’t be afraid to shout-out a colleague!)
  2. Honor a colleague with a compliment
  3. Add to your professional toolbox with the resources below
  4. Spread the word

At PESI, we recognize the invaluable work done by mental health professionals and strive to provide you with accurate and evidence-based information so you can excel in your field of expertise. Our abundance of resources can help you provide the best care for your clients and community, starting with a FREE video by Lane Pederson, PsyD, LP, C-DBT, on using DBT to build interpersonal effectiveness.
