Tracey Anderson, MSN, CNRN, FNP-BC, ACNP-BC
Tracey Anderson, MSN, CNRN, FNP-BC, ACNP-BC, brings over 25 years of advanced practice experience in the neurosciences, with specialized expertise in neurocritical care, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and emergency medicine. Board certified as both a family nurse practitioner and an acute care nurse practitioner, Tracey also holds certification from the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing as a certified neuroscience registered nurse.
Her clinical career includes neurotrauma at Denver Health Medical Center and neurocritical care at University of Colorado Hospital, where she served as the primary driver of neurosurgery outreach initiatives to expand access to specialty care for rural and critical access hospitals. At University of Colorado Hospital, Tracey developed and led the stroke program, achieving Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission in 2008, and created the Neurocritical Care Fellowship program.
A key contributor to the American Stroke Association’s Operation Stroke Initiative in Chicago, Tracey helped lead an effort that delivered stroke training to more than 10,000 physicians across Illinois and Indiana. A frequent lecturer nationally and internationally, she has presented for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and her publications include work on stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and procedural guidelines for advanced practice nurses.
Among her many distinguished honors is the International Magnet Nurse of the Year Award, presented by the American Nurses Credentialing Center at the Magnet Conference in Baltimore – one of the highest honors in the nursing profession. Additional recognition includes the Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award at the National Conference for Nurse Practitioners in Chicago, and the Peak Performers Hospital Based Nurse Practitioner Award at the Rocky Mountain Hospital Medicine Symposium.
An active leader in her professional community, Tracey has served on the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing as a trustee and co-chaired the American Association of Neurological Surgeons’ Advanced Practice Provider meeting.
