Christina Cowger, MFT
Christina Cowger, MFT, has worked within the integrative medicine field for over two and a half decades providing both CME and CE education to health providers. Christina is a licensed mental health practitioner who has lectured on topics such as mood, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and addiction. Throughout her career she has consulted with trauma and addiction recovery centers on integrating a mind-body approach to recovery. In addition to her extensive counseling experience, Christina has spent decades writing, researching, and lecturing on the topic of mind-body theories, experiential processes in trauma recovery, psychopharmacology, neuro-immune developments, and addiction. Christina was an integral force in developing a relationally based women’s residential program where she spearheaded the clinical track and served as the clinical director. This program dynamically addressed attachment and relationship challenges, integrating cognitive, biological, and experiential methods.
Her teaching and lecturing venues include Stanford University, Kaiser Permanente, California Pacific Medical Center, California Naturopathic Association, Dominican University, Sonoma State University, CAMFT and groups such as WAAT (Women’s Association for Addiction Treatment), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders), the Nevada Osteopathic Association, physician groups, and addiction treatment centers. Christina is a CE provider in California. She received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University, studied health education at CIIS, and received her master’s degree from Sonoma State University.
