Description
- Identify BFRBs using current diagnostic criteria and assessment tools
- Get a clear framework to conceptualize and treat even the most complex cases
- Practical strategies for children, adolescents, and adults
- Interventions form ACT, DBT, HRT and more
When a client walks in pulling their hair, skin picking, or nail biting – often to the point of visible damage, pain, or infection -– it’s not uncommon to feel at a loss.
These Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) aren’t “just bad habits.” They’re complex, self-reinforcing behaviors that thrive in shame and misunderstanding.
But here’s the thing. If you work with clients with anxiety, OCD, ADHD or those on the autism spectrum you will almost certainly encounter BFRBs in your practicer - and you’re likely not trained to treat them.
That’s why we created this course to give you the tools to treat these behaviors with confidence, even if you’ve never worked with these conditions before.
You’ll join 2 of the leaders in the field, Dr. Marla Deibler and Dr. Renae Reinardy co-authors of The BFRB Recovery Workbook.
With step-by-step guidance, clinical insights, and practical tools – including printable worksheets – they’ll clearly explain how to use a comprehensive, evidence-based roadmap for effective treatment for your clients – whether you work with kids, teens or adults.
This training gives you all the foundational tools you need to:
- Confidently assess and monitor BFRBs using validated tools
- Identify the behavioral patterns and functions that perpetuate the behavior cycle
- Integrate CBT, HRT, ACT, and DBT into flexible, individualized treatment plans
- Guide clients toward self-understanding, psychological flexibility, and lasting change
Whether you’re new to treating BFRBs or looking to strengthen your skills, this course will equip you with the tools needed to help your clients thrive.
