Fiona O'Farrell, PhD, LMFT, CST-S


Fiona E. O’Farrell, PhD, LMFT, CST-S (they/she) is a systemic therapist, clinical sexologist, and educator with over 15 years of experience in couple and family therapy, sex therapy, and anti-oppressive therapeutic practice. They serve as the chair of the marriage and family therapy master’s program at Pacific Lutheran University, where they are dedicated to training emerging therapists to adopt systemic thinking to explore the intersection of self-development, relational work, consent, and sexuality.

Fiona’s clinical practice supports couples in intimacy enhancement, boundaries and consent, shame reduction, relationship growth, and queer-affirming care. Their chapter, “Liberating Love: Rewriting the Fairytale and Expanding Relationship Norms”, critically examines dominant narratives in relational models and provides practical approaches for supporting diverse relationship structures. This chapter is featured in Decolonizing Family Systems, Relationships, and Practices: Intersectional Perspectives, which Fiona co-edits, advancing the discourse on expansive ways to support relationships in clinical work.
