Meet Your Trainer


Daniel J. Moran, PhD, BCBA-D
Daniel J. Moran, PhD, BCBA-D, is an associate professor in the doctor of psychology in clinical psychology with health emphasis program at Touro University. He has dedicated his career to reducing suffering and enhancing qualify of life. Dr. Moran is also a past president of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), the international ACT organization with over 8,000 members worldwide. He co-authored the first case conceptualization manual for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy entitled ACT in Practice (New Harbinger) and served on the inaugural ACT training committee. He has authored several other books on ACT, including Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way.

As a recognized ACT trainer in the ACBS community, Dr. Moran has an engaging training style and has been an invited keynote speaker at numerous events over the past decade. He has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Network, The Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet to discuss treatment approaches for various clinical disorders. His scholarly work includes articles and book chapters coauthored with CBT pioneer Albert Ellis and ACT pioneer Steven Hayes.

Since 2017, Dr. Moran has provided telepsychology services and founded Optimize Psychological Health, a teleclinic where he continues to supervise clinicians and provide direct client care. Passionate about applying ACT beyond clinical settings, he established Pickslyde Consulting to bring mindfulness and values-based commitment skills to workplaces — improving leadership, innovation, and safety.

Will this training provide a bunch of research, or will I learn how to apply ACT?

Dr. Moran delivers an exercise and intervention-heavy course that will give you the tools you need to more effectively treat clients with PTSD, anxiety, depression, or personality disorders.


What will the schedule look like?

April 8-9, 2027 from 8:00am-4:00pm MT both days

There will be a 70-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Lunch and break times will be announced by the speaker and at their discretion. A more detailed schedule is available upon request.

Please note: You will have access for 90 days after the program for review. For live CE credit, you must watch the live presentation in its entirety at its scheduled time and complete the CE quiz and evaluation within one week.
