Tamara McClintock Greenberg, PhD Related seminars and products
Dr. Tamara Greenberg, is a clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and professional training. Her work has focused on trauma-informed care, complex post traumatic stress disorder, and integrative psychotherapy. She began her professional career in 1989 working with Child Protective Services, an experience that informed her ongoing interest in trauma and recovery.
Licensed as a psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1999, Dr. Greenberg served for 23 years as a Volunteer Full Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In this role, she supervised and mentored psychiatry residents and contributed to clinical education within academic medical settings. She also provided clinical services within UCSF affiliated hospitals and taught in the medical school.
Dr. Greenberg currently continues her involvement in graduate medical education as a volunteer supervisor for psychiatry residents at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California.
She is the author of six books and numerous peer reviewed articles and book chapters addressing trauma, PTSD, medical illness, psychotherapy approaches, and relational factors in treatment. Her most recent book, The Complex PTSD Coping Skills Workbook, has been translated into multiple languages and is used by clinicians and clients internationally.
Dr. Greenberg has delivered professional trainings and lectures nationally and internationally and has contributed to media discussions on trauma and mental health, including coverage in major newspapers, national magazines, and public radio outlets. She has also been a guest on professional podcasts focused on trauma and psychotherapy.
In her teaching and training, Dr. Greenberg emphasizes evidence informed practice, clinical reasoning, and the practical application of therapeutic strategies in complex cases.
