I hate when this comes up. I don’t know what to say.
You didn’t get trained in how to work with body image concerns. Few therapists have.
And being human – you’re just as immersed in the culture of body shame as your clients are.
Standards of beauty that can’t be met. Diet culture and weight stigma.
We get life-long lessons on how to hate our bodies.
It’s time to make a shift – to seeing our bodies not as a problem to solve but as a source of insight that creates opportunities for growth.
In this workshop, Deb Schacter and Whitney Otto – body image experts and co-authors of the highly acclaimed book Body Image Inside Out – introduce you to a revolutionary, user-friend approach in which you’ll use body image concerns as a bridge into deeper understanding of your clients’ emotional lives and relationships. You’ll learn:
- How to frame moments of body image distress as opportunities to tune in with curiosity
- Relational mirror exercises, mindful awareness techniques, and other practical tools
- Compassion-focused reframing strategies to reduce shame – for your clients and you
- Tools to connect clients with body sensations in a productive rather than destructive way
- And much more!
PURCHASE TODAY to reframe negative body image from an enemy to a teacher and a pathway to deeper self-awareness.
