Andrea Bushala, LCSW, is a Certified Theraplay® Therapist, Trainer and Supervisor. Andrea has been with the Theraplay Institute since 2012, where she presents and trains around the world. Prior to joining the Theraplay Institute, Andrea worked at a community mental health clinic focusing on children and young adults experiencing anxiety and depression. Additionally, she has experience in the public-school system providing individual and group therapy for children ages 2-6.
In her clinical work, Andrea uses a strength-based perspective, incorporating the learnings of trauma and attachment theory to help families optimize relationships and their sense of connection. She uses Theraplay in dyadic work, in groups and in school settings, and believes that her love of Theraplay informs her clinical work more than any other modality. In her private practice Andrea combines Theraplay with Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Bibliotherapy, sand tray and art therapy.
