NICOLE ALICINO, PH.D.

Nicole Alicino, PhD, is a psychologist in private practice in New York City. She has expertise in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and complicated co-occurring conditions, including OCD, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Alicino offers neuropsychological and diagnostic evaluations for children and adults, including Adult Asperger’s Assessments, and psychotherapy for individuals and families. Additionally, she has extensive training in evidence-based social skills training and cognitive-behavioral therapy that is tailored to address the specific needs of those with high-functioning autism.

 

Prior to her work in private practice she served as a school psychologist in underserved communities in New York City. There she worked with families to advocate for their children’s needs and consulted with teachers and administrators to implement evidence-based interventions into classrooms to support children with learning differences and Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an adjunct professor for City University of New York, Dr. Alicino has taught hundreds of aspiring teachers how to understand students with different needs, create environments that are supportive and inclusive, and navigate the special education system.
