Course Description:

Join international trainer and presenter Dr. Debbie Joffe Ellis, wife of the late Dr. Albert Ellis, for this one-day seminar on the practical, clinical applications of evidence-based Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). Albert Ellis was one of the most influential psychologists of all time, founder of the cognitive-behavioral therapies and the developer of REBT. Dr. Ellis is a legend in the field of psychotherapy and revolutionized the field. The core of his approach and its strategies remain in today’s most effective evidenced based approaches.

Dr. Joffe Ellis brings the same passion, enthusiasm and irreverence her late husband brought to his trainings. This is an exclusive opportunity to learn from a master who will provide you with unique insight into REBT. Along with a live demonstration of these effective techniques, you will also have the opportunity to learn from the late Dr. Ellis himself through very rare video footage.

In this seminar you will learn specific cognitive-based techniques from REBT to move your client beyond merely correcting their symptoms to helping them unconditionally accept themselves, their relationships and their lives. As a result they will be better able to meet life’s challenges with greater resilience.
Objectives:
  1. Discuss the origin of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
  2. Demonstrate how to use the ABC self-help REBT tool.
  3. Demonstrate how to conduct a shame-attacking emotive/evocative technique.
  4. Describe the most effective REBT treatment techniques to use with anxiety.
  5. Summarize the aspects of mindfulness that relate to REBT.
  6. Describe how to effectively choose the appropriate technique for the clinical disorders of anxiety, depression and addictive behaviors.
