My work in the field of sexuality education and therapy has spanned decades and continents, from training therapists to advising governments, UN-affiliated agencies, Fortune 500 companies, universities, and professional organizations. Out of this work, I developed the H.A.T. Model, a comprehensive framework that brings together medical, relational, psychological, and cultural dimensions of sexual health.
In this start-to-finish training, I’ll prepare you to assess sexual health concerns, apply sex therapy–informed interventions appropriate to your licensure and training, and make ethical, informed referrals when specialized or medical care is indicated.

Dr. Sara Nasserzadeh, PhD, is a relational psychotherapist, psychosexual therapist, and social psychologist whose work spans more than two decades across over forty countries.
She is a Senior Accredited member and a Registered Supervisor with the College of Sex and Relationship Therapists in the UK (COSRT), and a Certified Sexuality Counselor and Approved Provider with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
Dr. Nasserzadeh has served on the boards of various professional organizations and scientific committees, including the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and the California Psychological Association Division VII (CPA). She has advised UN agencies, governments, and Fortune 500 companies, and her work has been featured in major media outlets, including NPR, the BBC, and The New York Times. She has authored various publications and white papers, as well as three books.
She is widely recognized as a trailblazer in relational science and intercultural fluency, honored by peers and esteemed institutions alike, including the British Council for her contributions to social impact; Pfizer Inc. with its Innovation of the Year recognition for her leadership as global chair of the Customer Insights Council; the BBC World Service with Innovation of the Year Award for her groundbreaking program on sexuality education; and AASECT with its Award for Professional Excellence. In 2025, her most recent book — Love by Design: 6 ingredients to build a lifetime of love — received the Clark Vincent Award from the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), recognizing literary works that significantly advance the field.
