Sleep Disordered Breathing in Primary Care
Copyright :
Description
- Take ownership of OSA in your practice — screen, diagnose, manage PAP, and know when to refer
- GLP-1s and OSA: learn how the diagnosis changes your prescribing approach and how to adjust as patients lose weight
- When treated patients are still exhausted: a systematic approach from polypharmacy review to the latest pharmacology
Sleep apnea diagnoses are rising, specialist wait times are growing, and patients are falling through the cracks. Primary care clinicians are increasingly the first - and sometimes only - point of contact for patients with obstructive sleep apnea, yet many feel underprepared to independently manage them. This program changes that.
Gain a practical, confident approach to screening, diagnosing, and managing sleep-disordered breathing without defaulting to a specialty referral. Learn how to troubleshoot the most common PAP barriers that derail patient adherence and explore the expanding role of GLP-1 therapies in OSA management, including prescriptive considerations specific to an OSA diagnosis. For patients who remain excessively sleepy despite treatment, discover a systematic approach to next-step evaluation, from polypharmacy review to targeted pharmacologic options. You'll also get an up-to-the-minute look at what's in the pharmaceutical pipeline, including trials investigating novel combination therapies that may reshape how OSA is treated in the coming years.
