“A thorough, thoughtful, and immensely practical workbook written to help therapists work with clients' bodily responses, not just with their actions and emotions. Manuela Mischke-Reeds has a compassionate voice that imbues her very precise somatic interventions and suggestions with warmth and clinical wisdom.”
- Janina Fisher, PhD

"There are so many options in this boo on how to work with a presenting issue, so it really helps me in finding the most suitable intervention for any particular client. The different option are also well described, so it's easy to understand when to use what. I also find the way the tools are categorized really helpful. They are easy to find, just like in a great toolshed. The worksheets can be downloaded and printed, which is really useful when I work with clients online, but also for clients who would like to track their experiences at home. This is a great book to have handy, not only for client interventions, but also to look up helpful exercises to ground and nourish my own body and mind. I highly recommend it!"
- Pernilla Siebenfreund, Certified Hakomi Therapist & Hakomi Teacher

"This is a must-read for every clinician out there. This book reminds us just how much of our experience happens in the body and just how unattended the body can be. It is a wonderfully clear, concise and comprehensive guide to using somatic techniques in therapy that can equally benefit a seasoned or a novice clinician. The author shares her tremendously rich experience by offering very practical and concrete ways of how to guide our clients into their own body, help them become aware of inner processes, and how to make this experience safe and meaningful."
- Asya Mourraille, MFT

[+] [-] 085910 - Trauma Treatment Toolbox
"A marvelous conise yet comprehensive collection of tools for the trauma therapist. Dr. Sweeton describes the techniques in just the right level of detail to enable the reader to both deliver the intervention and provide a cogent, motivating rationale for its use. There's something in here to help every patient! I'll be consulting this creative volume for years to come."
- Alex Jordan, PhD, Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital

"This book is a tremendous resource for mental health providers and their clients. It is jam-packed with worksheets that lead readers through brain-based tools including focused breathing, awareness of body, movement, meditations and cognitive techniques. The meat consists of an extensive set of tools based on bottom up (using the body to change the brain) and top-down (using the reflective capabilities of the brain) approaches to brain change designed to help trauma survivors. An amazing book! Every therapist will want to use the tools in this book whether they specialize in trauma or not."
- Debra Burdick, LCSW, BCN, author of numerous books on mindfulness and ADHD, including Mindfulness Skills Workbook for Clinicians and Clients

"I love this book! With information and research for clinicians followed by protocols and scripts for each trauma tool, these top down (cognitive) approaches are very different than the usual thought challenging methods of CBT. I definitely will be adding this book to my current library and urge everyone working with these clients to do the same."
- Kate Cohen-Posey, MS, LMHC, LMFT author of the Brief Therapy Client Handouts books and creator of the Handy Brain Model
