BRAD UEBINGER, MSED, MSW, LCSW, RYT-200

Brad L. Uebinger, MSED, MSW, LCSW, RYT-200is a Clinical Director at a Community Mental Health Center in Central Indiana, providing quality control to over three hundred clinicians in five counties. He is also a licensed Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance (RYT-200). Brad has been a mental health professional for more than 30 years, and has a vast amount of experience in developing and leading professional trainings.



His background in the contemplative practices of yoga and meditation is even more extensive. Brad started a meditation practice, and started studying the philosophy of yoga and Zen, in 1974. He met his first Zen master in 1979, and has studied with several since then, including an extended period of study with Elihu Genmyo Smith, who is a Dharma Heir of Charlotte Joko Beck. In the 1980’s, he started studying yoga with Lois Steinberg, the third highest ranking teacher of Iyengar yoga in the United States. Now, as a yoga teacher, Brad specializes in the “inner practices” of yoga, such as mediation and pranayama. Even when teaching asana (the postures), the focus is on how to do them as a type of mindfulness practice. Brad has been trained in the EMBER® model of Trauma-Sensitive Yoga by the creators of the program.
