THERESA M. PETRENCHIK, PHD, OTR/L

Terry Petrenchik, PHD, OTR/L, is a licensed occupational therapist with expertise in children’s mental health and development.  She has over 20 years of experience providing direct therapy services to children with histories of maltreatment and the complex mental, emotional and behavioral conditions associated with early relational trauma.  Dr. Petrenchik works with child serving agencies, municipalities, community coalitions and homeless service providers who serve developmentally vulnerable and maltreated children. 

Dr. Petrenchik is the owner of Well & Ready Kids, a therapeutic and educational consulting agency specializing in the needs of children and youth with complex neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, disorders of extreme stress not otherwise specified (DESNOS), childhood regulatory disorders, and developmental trauma.  One of her areas of specialty is self-regulation and co-regulation strategies for chronically dysregulated children and youth.  Dr. Petrenchik is a certified HeartMath® provider, a trained iLs listening protocol provider, and she has extensive experience using regulatory approaches such as BAL-A-Vis-X, Brain Gym, Smart Moves, Astronaut Training, and sensory motor arousal regulation techniques.  Dr. Petrenchik presents nationally on the topics of developmental trauma, self-regulation, emotional dysregulation and attachment.  She is also a published researcher in childhood disability who has been an occupational therapy faculty member at several US and Canadian universities.  Dr. Petrenchik is a sought-after speaker, consultant and trainer.
