Patricia Slachta is currently a nursing faculty member in South Carolina and a clinical nurse specialist for skin, wound and ostomy care in a 500-bed medical center. She holds a PhD in nursing and is board certified as a clinical nurse specialist in adult health and in wound, ostomy and continence nursing. Patricia draws from her many years of clinical practice in acute care and as a consultant in long-term, sub-acute, and home health.
In addition to implementing inpatient and outpatient wound care programs, Patricia has presented numerous workshops and educational programs. As a member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society, she serves on the accreditation committee and participates in a number of task force groups. She has published several book chapters and articles. Patricia is committed to providing current, evidence-based information that is both practical and cost effective.
