Course Description:

Hypnosis can be a useful tool within psychotherapy. It allows the clinician to dissolve resistance, turn on better neuro-pathways for change, and help change occur often in a brief time frame.

This workshop teaches you how to go in and out of the hypnotic state, use suggestive language directly and indirectly, and employ a 4-step method to alter negative self-suggestions. You will experience varied hypnotic phenomena and learn helpful, powerful interventions for anxiety, stress, trauma, substance abuse, pain, sleep and weight issues.

If you are new to hypnosis, you will gain the skills you need to start adding hypnosis to your practice. Or if you are an experienced hypnotherapist, you will learn innovative methods to enhance your work. Through the process, you will gain hypnotic skills you can use for enriching your own personal development.

Bill and Carol have spent over 25 years in research, psychotherapy, neuroscience, and the practice of hypnosis. They have used hypnosis and meditation for personal growth, stress reduction, pain management, and exploration of the optimal mind. As co-directors of the Milton Erickson Institute of Houston, Bill and Carol have taught hypnosis throughout the U.S. and abroad and presented at numerous major conferences on hypnosis. In addition to their work with the Erickson Institute, they are members of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. Their cutting edge book, Brain Change Therapy: Clinical Interventions for Self Transformation published by WW Norton in 2012 examines the neuroscientific research about how change occurs with the brain in mind.
